Zomato Buys MaplePOS, Says Now Booking Tables and Paying Bills Online Is Possible
Reuters reported that the Indian giant Zomato that rolled out restaurant listings and reviews in 20 countries has acquired MaplePOS. MaplePOS, which is now renamed as Zomato Base is all set to increase the features of this already popular app. Zomato will now offer online table reservation and online bill payment facilities to its users.
Moreover, it is also getting into food delivery services in India. It will also provide several services to the restaurants, which will make the user interface much more interactive and updated. Zomato launched in India in 2008 and since then it has only been on a rise. It is now used in 20 other countries and has risen to become the most trusted app by several users. Not only does it list restaurants, but also highlights special places, has a section that allows people to review a particular eating joint and share images. What clicked for Zomato is the genuineness. This isn’t some professional food critique, who can be bought, reviewing a place; these are everyday common people talking about the hits and misses of a restaurant in a given city. With the new updates now; Zomato will be able to cover a larger strength of audience and clients. This will take it leaps further than most of its contemporaries who are running quite close to it in the same field.
The sheer simplicity and the accuracy of Zomato’s app helped it to become an instant hit among most people. The app has a no fuss, simple layout which works with all mobiles and helps people in reviewing a restaurant, uploading pictures of the dishes and also in rating it. We won’t be wrong to say that very soon it could be leading the race in providing quality restaurant service across India. This is surely a much needed move since several people need guidance for food when they move from one city to another. They have kept it simple, easy and extremely informative by far. With this new development, it will be very interesting to see the company’s market growth over the next few years. For that, we just need to wait and watch. For now, it seems like a festive time for Zomato.
