It’s also kind of sad to read the reality of these status updates. It just goes out to show how it’s difficult to trust people who are so fake. In this digital era, “likes” and “comments” mean so much that we have practically forgotten what genuine appreciation and love means like. These status updates is a critique on our times and how tender and weak our sense of identity and confidence have become these days. From what exotic places we visit to the kind of grand birthday parties we have had; we want everything to go up on social media to prove a point. Our popularity and nature is based on what people say about us online and how many friends we have on Facebook. It doesn’t really hit us hard until we realize how we don’t have too many true friends and that most of what we do online is superficial and fake.
