BOMBAY VELVET TRAILER REVIEW: RANBIR’S RESURRECTION?
[wp_ad_camp_1]
One thing we must say, Ranbir Kapoor is a smart guy. Look at the brilliant timing for releasing the trailer of one of his most awaited films this year, Bombay Velvet. He released it right before India and Bangladesh entered the field to knock each other off for a place in the semi-finals. An estimated ninety thousand people are present at the ground and over millions of people are watching the match on televisions at home. As if this wasn’t enough, Mr. Kapoor is giving live commentary for the match as I write this review. Okay, on second thoughts, he looks desperate than smart, Ha Ha! And poor guy must be; his last hit was Yeh Jawani hai Deewani and since then he has not had the opportunity to taste the sweet fruit of success. Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, seems to be on a roll. First PK, then NH10 and very soon Bombay Velvet and then there is Virat, wow! Okay, cutting the crap short, the trailer is quite interesting. The film is based in the 60s and we must say that the costumes, sets and the entire feel that the trailer provides, literally takes one back to that era. Ranbir and Anushka are obviously good, but it’s Karan Johar who took us by surprise. He’s classy, badass and so suave it just leaves us wondering why he didn’t debut earlier. Since its Anurag Kashyap, we are expecting the plot to be extremely strong and engaging. All in all, it looks interesting, let’s hope it lives up to our expectations and most importantly Ranbir’s; poor guy needs a hit desperately.
It seems like Anushka wasn’t hiding or lying about her lip job after all. She had mentioned it time and again that she did a temporary one for this film. Bombay Velvet Trailer is the living example on how that is true. So therefore PK, Bombay Velvet and may be a few films after these may see an Anushka with a thick lip, but it is temporary. Bombay velvet trailer also hints at the amount of money that has been spent of creating this period film’s sets and costumes. We are genuinely hoping this film doesn’t crash in the market!
But for that, we all will have to wait for the 15th of May. Until then, Ta Da!
